You can't say that - CS:S isn't standalone. AFAIK you cannot purchase HL2 without CS:S and you can't purchase CS:S alone. We could have a semantic debate about the difference between HL2 MP and HL2 MP component but when it gets down to it MP is just multiplayer not themed SP.
The CS IP is...
While they're probably better than most because they actually have half decent writers and a big circulation I doubt they are immune to advertising revenue and carrots like 'exclusives'.
Seeing as the creators of CS and DoD work for Valve and even before that they sold their IP to the company then that's not true. It depends on a definition of 'made' that is incoherent.
Actually they were complaining after Carmack indicated D3 would be a 'weekend game' and not very long so a lot people speculated that it would be well under 15 hours.
How can you talk in past tense expressing personal disappointment about something you haven't personally experienced? Playtime...
I think it looks great. The full emotional palette of human expression is very big and when you think about it eveyone looks a bit peculiar mid sentence if they're investing any kind of passion in to their words. Indeed, political campaigns wouldn't be anywhere near as propagandist if it wasn't...
Absolutely agree! The Total War games are on a whole 'nother level than 99% of other games. You can tell the CA guys really have a passion for their work. Both Medieval and Rome are modern classics...
I for one gave him the benefit of the doubt - I just wanted a titbit from the review which he eventually gave.
Seeing nobody even remotely demanded that he laboriously type out the unabridged text, I guess I don't really understand this whole 'a couple of quotes or a quick and dirty summary...
The community can be rabid at times but there's nothing rude about simply asking for more detail than the score or being sceptical of something on the 'net when it's unconfirmed. There's no plausible reason he couldn't provide a quote or a summary. I don't think anyone expects him to laboriously...
Grief? Hardly. You say you couldn't be bothered typing anything more about the review yet you took the time to post the scores from other games. Obviously that time could have been spent giving an impression or a few choice quotes from the review. It's not rocket science.
Dude nobody cares about the scores for other games. At least post a measly quote if you're for real. I find it hard to believe there isn't a single interesting titbit in the review.
Regardless of the word - my point is that there is no existing contract between them after past HL2. VU is seeking a judicial remedy which would create one.
While I'm certainly no expert on contract or commercial law, I did pay attention in law school enough to understand that much... :p
No you are not understanding. VU wants a legal remedy which imposes on Valve an agreement re: future Source games commensurate to the previous agreement. There is no pre-existing contract between VU & Valve on all Source engine games.
