For me, it crashed three times (once randomly and then twice at low life's elevator). I think it was because of ATI's crappy new catalysts. I downgraded to 6.4 and it worked cool. The sad thing was that steam decided to re-decrypt already decrypted files, so as you might guess, it ruined HL2E1...

I gotta complete the game in one sequence, and now with fixed drivers... Got crashed three times and then run outta time and got to go to sleep because of school. :) But summer vacation is starting, so I have plenty of time...

Yeah, downloading is other way, but if you dont have high speed internet (like I) or just want to install the game faster than downloading it.

I found this trick well-working so I decided to post it here if it helps anyone. If you dont have dvd-drive in your computer, but your mom/poppa/dog owns one, just share the drive on LAN with windows local area network and your done. Just put the dvd into the drive and then open the networked...

Lol, awesome job Valve. The bad thing is that I didnt get all out of the game because of my crappy Radeon 9800xt which is getting out-dated and didnt run with full effects etc... The game was truly awesome, but it crashed few times... I think the problem was with my graphics card drivers...

Huh? 512 enough :O My comp has 1gb and it still keeps swapping sometimes, its now better when i killed all possible windows processes. 1.5 or 2gb would be good to run HL2E1 and all windows stuff.
