Well I put the AC Twin Turbo on today and the results are incredible:
Stock cooler
Idle 80C
Load for most modern somewhat intensive games eventually shuts down, goes over 110C
AC cooler
Idle 33C
Load 42C
I've never seen a difference like that in my life. I checked the stock cooler when I...
My Raidmax isn't cutting it to me anymore, it's starting to feel very cheap to me and the side panel has some problems with noise from vibrations from the fans. I've always skimped a bit on cases, but I think it's high time I get something nicer with good cooling, and preferably not too loud...
Yeah I've seen the Akasa and I was considering that as well, I like it since it's the style the old AC's used to be. The only other concern is that the VRM's on the 4850 are supposedly not covered by a new cooler like the AC or Akasa, how can I resolve that? Are there heatsinks or something I...
My card (sig) has been getting way too hot lately, it idles at 84-87C with the fan set to auto, and with the fan at max it idles at about 76C. I can't play most new games for long without the computer shutting down on me, I've seen it hitting 112C on load and beyond with the fan at max.
I...
So upgrading from the old desktop in my sig, I'm getting a CPU, motherboard, ram, and videocard while keeping the rest. I was looking to spend around $400 and this will go over a bit but it looks perfect to me.
OCZ Platinum 2x2GB...
So it's finally time to upgrade my desktop again, right now I'm looking at getting a cpu, ram, motherboard, and vid card while reusing the rest for now. I'm trying to keep the cost around $400 which I think should be fairly reasonable for playing games.
My current plan was to get a Core 2...
OMG LINUX FTW!!!!! :O
When I get my laptop in I'm just going to dual boot Vista and XP so I have XP to fall back on while Vista works through its growing pains. I'll probably put some Linux like Gentoo on there too.
Hmm well the macbook pro still has similar hardware and 4 hours of battery life, it is also a bit thinner and lighter which helps portability. The Asus G1S also has 2-2.5 hours of battery life so even that might be ok. I probably won't be getting the C90S then.
Well it's time for me to start thinking about getting a laptop for college. I know right away that I would like to be able to play games comfortably but I don't need the highest settings. I would like to run upcoming games such as Crisis and Unreal 3. There are three laptops I am considering...
Hmm recording probably would be something I would like to do. I did have TV on my desktop from my old AIW 9800 pro but now I have an X1900GT and thought I'd get another TV Tuner card. The HDTV Wonder and the Theater 550 look good right now for PCI.
Well pretty much my question is in the title. I've been looking to get a TV Tuner and the only reason that I considered USB is because I could use it in any computer, including a laptop unlike PCI. Anybody have experience with them? I was thinking of something nice and small like this...
