I don't think we should be getting a "Christmas" gift from Valve, I think the game should have been complete at release. They advertised CS:S as the multiplayer component, yet we still only have 1 player model per side and limited # of maps (compared to original CS). If I had free time to...
You won't have to pay extra for mods (Unless you have the Bronze or Retail NON-CE Edition DOD:S is free)...stop whining, VALVe obviously chose not to include MP for a reason, trust in their good reasoning. If you'd just give CS:S a shot, you'd realize that it's friggin amazing, albeit a little...
Imagine instead of bump-mapped textures for pebbly ground, individual pebbles, each with their own physics models...imagine fingernails, individual hair models rendered real time...there are soooo many possibilities....
HL2 would only be unlocked on your acct on his computer. If he tries to log onto his own acct on his computer, he will see HL2 as being available, but he won't be able to play it. He'll need a new CD code to unlock it for his account.
However as long as he has your USERNAME/PASSWORD he can...
Gold is looking tempting, I think what will be the deciding factor is if the book included is actually Raisin the Bar. If it is, I will purchase from Steam. DOD: Source is a nice bonus, but I probbably won't play it much anyway. If I don't get Gold, I'll get CE.
Too many connections is also a possibility. Try using a 3rd party BitTorrent Client. Its easier to change settings and preferences.
I prefer BitSpirt. 'Tis only a google search away.
the prima boook is 30 bucks by itself. however, it is stiill kinda lame that we only get the sampler, seeing as we're paying 30 bucks more for an XL t-shirt that only 10% of the population is large enough to wear. So basically we're paying 30 dollars more for HL: S and the cheezy sampler.
edit: I just found out that the original news post about the RC being sent to valve was edited later on to include HL:S.
However the possibility remains that HL2 could go GOLD but not HL: S.
I was just thinking about this. If the HL2 CE is supposed to include HL: Source wouldn't that require it to be completed before they can print the special edition DVD. If VALVe advertises HL:S to be included in the set they just can't say, "you can play it, but you have to wait til its done...
