Here's the simplest and most likely explanation why they have not shown Ep3 yet: they don't have anything concrete to show. Valve has had all these other projects like L4D and TF2 updates, so Ep3 is still at an early concept stage. Maybe they're still finishing the script or throwing around...

Left 4 Dead 2 might be a game worth $50 on its own. I admit it looks like a fun game that hopefully has far more content that I realistically thought they could add to L4D. But when you have already paid $50 for L4D that has pretty much the same gameplay, it makes people a bit disappointed...

Ok, I got it working after I reinstalled the 1.12 patch manually after the Special Forces installation program. Hope this helps...

Same thing. Black screen and then crash to desktop. Updated Catalysts to 5.13 and reinstalled the game, but no help. Im currently trying to download DirectX 9c again, to make sure nothing's wrong with it.

Processor is everything. My upgrade from 2000+ to 3000+ 64bit doubled, no, tripled my fps. More RAM will also do good for loading times, but doesnt really affect fps.

I've had this same problem for since release of DoD:S. In the beginning, I just couldnt keep HDR on, but since Lost Coast, it has just kept going worse. Now I cant even play HL2 singleplayer, it crashes after ive played about half an hour. I do, however have lots of problems with other games...
