I have the same problem with Vista 32bit. I hear the valve intro playing but no video. Screen flickers and black, about 15 seconds pass and it crashes :(
Using the latest nvidia drivers (even tried the beta drivers) and nothing.
A few years? As in you want to be able to play the newest games, on a card you buy today, in 2007? All for under $200...

I can't belive TF2's development. I've gotten my hopes up so many times, even after meeting Gabe Newell myself, actually shaking his hand, and having him tell me TF2 info comes right after HL2's release. Blech. My dreams, crushed into so many peices.

I had fun with blue shift and opposing forces for HL1. Would be cool to be able to play the role of the combine in HL2 or something. I bet they already have those planned out.
Although I know that good testers sometimes do recommend ways of getting around bugs with code, it’s not something that developers could just plug into their application magically.
