I have the same connection. here are the settings I tweaked. They worked for my connection and I got them from this thread I hope it helps.

well im off to bed at 5am in OZ adn when I wake up it's a nice walk with my dogs then play some css and wait till I can play HL2.

ok an update. I put the figures king suggested into css and now its running sweet 8) wow playing with a 15ms ping in net_graph 3 to my local cs servers :O best day cs:s online ever for me :) so smooth now.

AFAIK nvidia don't do AAx6.

Thats right, HL2 wont be banned because our government wants us to forget......... So they will give us HL2 :D

I played css over LAN last night for the first time with 8 pple and it ran great 8) had lots of fun, hit what I aimed for unlike playing online. I'll try the tweaks in this thread and see if I can get it running online as good as over lan with my 1500/256 connection and 15-20ms pings to my local...

yes ;) looks like it or maybe you'll just really suck in other game engines if you get really good at css as is? I never played cs and come from a quake3/ut engine games and tribes games background where you either aim at the target or lead the target. I play with pings of 15-40 and dont know...

I've stopped playing for the most part because i don't want to untrain my self and prac to be a bad shot :|
