If I recall correctly, Valve is supposed to be working w/ the Sven Coop team quite a bit, and it will probably be as close to official as any mod could have.

I live in Oklahoma City too! But I can't go to see it myself as that would mean I'd be skipping work. And I just got the job so I can't do that, especially not for the same rehasehed E3 footage... I got a friend though, I'll make him go. :D

I'm on Stage 7 (knew HL2 would be delayed since mid August and was planning on it, and thus isn't disappointed)

Amen to that. As much as I hate to be the type to say "I told you so", its really friggin hard to not do it when faced with such kind of mindless fanaticism.

And considering the first Max Payne took something like 5 years to make, that's definately a possibility. :P Though not a probability. Hell there's more PR for Max Payne 2 now than there was for HL2 minus the tech videos that only a very small minoirty (i.e. us) got to see.

well considering the last talked about min specs for HL2 upgrading wouldn't be a problem anyway, as even a $500 complete system would run HL2. Of course I bet the min specs have gone up a bit since they last talked about them (around E3)

Well now that its official, I figured I'd take a guess at the reasons Valve will state for the delay. Note: This isn't for any actual reason, this is for betting on the reason they tell us (may be different in your opinion). I'm putting my money on "Blaming it on Steam" Moderators...

By the time HL2 ships, a whole new generation of 3D cards (both from NVidia and ATI) will be out, and you can be sure it's going to be the fiercest competition in years to get the card that runs HL2 best. And for those on a budget, this means that the newer cards will be driven even cheaper...

last PC game to get me as hyped as I was (I say was because at this point I've gone back to "meh" levels of anticipation due to all this secrecy bs)? hm... Warcraft III I think, if not that then probably DOOM 1 :P
