I like 'that' one more than this. This doesn`t really fit to the game as well as the other. Plus the other one had incredible detail in it (probably that's the reason why Valve hired the guy to build another case for them).

FC engine does water refraction, works fine on my system. I think from distance HL2 water looks better, close up it is on par with FC. but judging from the HL2 screens (might change in the final game) it doesn't have the nice waves on the shore like FC.
Ok then, just thought you might have misunderstood me. You make a good point there too, its good to hear from them, regardless if its true or not.
Well, I don't believe anyone, and seeing how things are going, I might not even believe it when i finally hold a copy of the game in my hands.
You just don't get the point, Valve is a company, they have a reputation to lose, and they won't say anything that could harm them, and if that means they have to lie, they will do it, every company does it, I can assure you that. Fragmaster on the other hand is just an individual of the HL...
Tell me where did I mention that the cards won't be able to run the game. Plesa read carefully next time. I just said those who believed to have the best system when the game comes out were fooled.
Yes, you're right, that's what we all should do. I just think that emailing Gabe about this topic and hoping to get an honest reply (if any of Fragmasters claims are true) is a bit naive.
I mean, is he a Saint or what? He is just a man, like Fragmaster, and I don't think emailing Fragmaster...
What about the people who bought a Radeon 9600XT or a 9800XT, a new PC, etc.... I mean, come on, how can you defend Valves attitude in this regard. They said: Go out and buy yourself a Radeon, because it will be the best card to run the game!
Wow, what a load of crap, back then they knew how...
It's not the fact that they delayed it, I mean, if the product isn't ready, you have to delay it, but its they way they did it, thats what is so different from many other developers, that announce a delay in time. Plus, its the fact that Valve spokesmen said the game was still scheduled for a...

I didn't expect anything else from Valve. They need to save their face. If I was working at Valve I obviously wouldn't say anything that could harm the company's image.
You can't ask Valve about this topic, you already know...
Let's keep in mind that Fragmaster launched PHL, and at that time it was the best community HL site. So he obviusly WAS a hardcore-HL and -Valve fan.
And the fact that he lost every respect for Valve shows that they have done many things wrong. His writing style is most disturbing, but it is...
The boat's handling is very realistic, I own a rubber dinghy myself and I can safely that the boat physics are alright. I haven't tried the beta of HL2, so I can't compare the two, but if HL2 intends to have realistic physics (which it will most certainly have), then the handling will be similar.
I think the demo is fantastic. There are still a few graphical glitches, but the gameplay is awesome. Rambo-style approach won't do it, you'll have to sneak, hide in the jungle (never seen a graphics engine that draws so many details and runs at smooth 40-60fps)..etc.. And there is no game...
