Does anyone know how I can disable the opening video(s) (the eidos video right after you run the game)? Something in the shortcut line (I've tried -nointro)? For some reason it crashes because of that video. I've taken it out of the game folder, and then when I start the game it shows a picture...

I've seen the complaint from people who have pirated the game, but not from people who bought it yet. My friends works fine on a mid-range system. It probably varies from system to system. good luck edit: if what this person says is true, then it IS because it's a copied (pirated) version...

It was confirmed at gamespot's rumour section that you do need an active internet connection for installation. So, if you don't have the internet, you still can't play half-life 2.

Leon from Troika (he's the co-CEO) said that them releasing a SDK etc. for modding is only up to Valve and their publisher. So they don't know, and they won't know for a while. Troika has no control over it.
