I love that slow reload idea.. Maybe if you tap reload its a fast loud reload, and if you hold it for 1 or so seconds its slow. (yet it wouldnt start untill you released the key.. which might annoy people.. alot. Maybe if you held some (silent modifier key) (think of how walk work and crouch...

Done yes. But after the player gets knocked down with ragdoll. The hard part is having it look smooth so the player gets up ... correctly.. with out having vertes's going in random directions then forming a player. Thats the hard part.
And you cannot create an get up animation.. because...
Looks alot like Hl1..... I bet a lot of mod teams right now are making hl1 maps... and convert them to hl2 when the game is out. Recompile.. play. edit map... add detail. play.. release... done.
