Seriously doubt it. The AI Director is in L4D2 to make the campaigns less repetetive, because you also play the campaigns online. For EP3 or HL3 it wouldn't make that much sense, since it's not like people will be playing the story through as many times as L4D2...

The problem with portal is that, while it's a great game, IT IS sort of a gimmick game. It's hard to make a good sequel for such a game and make it feel like something new. I think that for Portal 2, they should change the name to something else, something Half-Life-ish and focus a lot more on...
