That is kind of the point though, despite the mods getting better, less people play them. Also, there have been big mods out for years now, so this is still really late.
To be honest I don't know if any amount of support from valve would have helped. I was hoping when HL2 got released that...
while this is good news, I really wish valve had given support to all mods for downloading directly from steam, auto-updating etc from day one, perhaps the mod scene wouldn't have died so badly
Anyone else think that the tank zombie in the trailer at the end didn't look very good? Maybe I am missing something but it looked way too shiny, kind of like when developers first started doing bump mapping a few years ago and everything looked wet.

matchmaking might be fine for a game with a user big as the CS or CS:S, there are always plenty of low ping servers of each map, but anything smaller like TF2 wouldn't work
i hope there is an option to turn it off

remember the bit where you had to shoot the floor, and the ceiling directly above, then fall through the floor and look up and to the side to shoot the one bit of wall that was portal-able (to get over a force field).... could have used slow-mo for that, so many attempts...
hmm, not sure how into this idea i am, it is quite an overused concept and i think most people are looking for innovation from mods nowadays. certainly their original concept is innovative and distinct from the mainstream, and it piqued my interest, hopefully this "perks" idea won't make the...
