I'm assuming this is fake. However if this statement is real, maybe the guy working at said store was just looking on the store computer rather than actually seeing the game itself. Maybe their computers still say Sept 30th because that was the expected release date.

I know a guy who thought he knew everything there is to know about Half-Life. I asked him if he'd seen the HL2 videos and he was like "Half-Life 2 is coming out?!?" I think HL2 will be much better as a game, however I'm sure Halo will do pretty decent in sales.

I'm pretty sure that if you buy it on steam, you will always have to authenticate on steam. Also, CD versions will probably use the CD to auth. However, if Steam is not used to auth the CD version then the only thing stopping people from burning copies is cd-copy protection which is usually...

I was so mad when I checked the NVidia website only to realize that Dawn can only be viewed with an FX card! I have a Ti 4400! Isn't that enough?? ;( I don't know the exact problems that NV cards have but I doubt I will notice it much. Ah the joys of being naive.

my video card (Geforce 4 Ti 4400 128MB) came with my computer so I don't feel any shame for having it. If HL2 is truly very slow on nvidia cards I might buy an ATI. It's been almost a year since I got my computer and I havent upgraded anything. However, I'll probably wait for a major price drop...

I go for traditional. I like to own it on hard copy. I'm sure there's lots of people that have steam but don't post on here. They are probably the subscription/steam buyers.
