1 GB is more than enough, wtf? Im running the game at highest settings HDR Full, 4x AA, 4x AF, 1024x768, vsync off with 1gb ram, amd64 3200+ and a X700 Pro for pci-e....@ 90-100 fps.. No crashes so at all..so far

I sell my singleplayer games when im tired of them, or if it's a "beat it once" game... In special cases i keep games such as max payne 2, medal of honor (AA, SH, BT) i still have half-life btw...so basicly i keep the games i liked when playing them, they're always a replay worth in a year or...

Yea before i got my new computer resently, i couldn't play hl2 with the newest drivers...I had that MX440 too, it messed the colors up real good and the screen flicked like hell. So i downgraded my drivers a version or two and problem solved...might work for you... But now that i have my new...

What's your computers specifications? If you only have 256 mb Ram or something, that might cause long loading times

i have 1.3 ghz, 512 mb ram, geforce 4 mx440, and i play with medium settings, no aa, and ofcorse no dx9 features like the water, but it plays well...

Hmm what do you do, when it tells you to change driver?...Hmm this is a tough cracker...ill get back to you.

Why don't you just look at the minimum and Recommended Systems specs instead of posting your giant computer and ask if it will run it, gee, use your head
