I don't need to jump any bandwagons to know that R420 wont have any of the extended video features of NV40 such as hardware mpeg 2/4/wmv9 encoding and decoding as well as upgradeability as codecs update as well as full quality HDTV - these are things people like me who encode and decode movies...

if as rumoured HL2 makes proper use of the efficiency and speed of rendering using shader model 3.0 then th clear leader for the games HIGH end modes will be the NV40 and ATI will join scope with the R500 at a later date since the r420 only sports model 2.0 shaders - I would say wait for the Pro...
