I loved the Fellowship the first time I saw it (which wasn't until it came out on DVD), but after the novelty of seeing Moria and the Ringwraiths brought to life for the first time wore off, I felt that there was very little else to appreciate. Jackson did as well as anybody could do while...
I'm talking about the perspective. Think Signs.
Edit~ To elaborate, what I remember most strongly from the production was the account of the man wandering into the ruins of the city, and eventually finding the derelict machines of the invaders. If I remember right, that version of the story...
I don't know, it looks pretty generic. I'm sure it'll be fun to watch, but it would have been great to see it done in a subdued, atmospheric sort of way, which is how I always visualised the radio version.
I know I cringe whenever I hear that synthesizer voice effect you always get on euro-dance-garbage and r&b tracks when the guy singing hits a high note. I can't think of a better way to explain it, but I absolutely cannot fcuking stand that effect.
In my mind, poetry is mainly about playing with words (sounds) and imagery. There's no such thing as bad poetry (Yeah, that's right), but as a means of communication there are more and less successful ways of getting your point across.
Imagery is the most powerful tool for writing good...
There was some anime vampire movie I always used to rent when I was a kid, but the only detail I can remember is the main vampire having a baby (?) with some woman, and then getting set up when he meets her in a church, where steel shutters with crucifixes painted on them drop down over the...
The moment I saw those Xbox2 UI screens I realized the whole project must be a corporate wet dream - a consumerist joybox in every family household.
When you separate content out into bits and pieces as they're doing, it becomes much easier to establish a precedent for over-charging, and the...

"I carry twenty-three great wounds, all got in battle. Seventy-five men have I killed with my own hands in battle. I scatter, I burn my enemies' tents. I take away...
I'm aware that it's intentional, and I do actually like the effect itself. I'm just saying that I think all of those elements placed together in such a way looks sort of jarring (to me), and detracts from the experience (see: example ). I think a game of this kind would benefit from a more...
There's also a demo available at the site. Don't be put off by the lack of challenge, apparently the full game has more aggressive opposition.
It seems like a decent game (having only played the demo), though I couldn't help wishing they'd gone a little further with the art design; there's...
I thought the gameplay was the worst part of Splinter Cell. The entire game was one big obstacle course. What really irked me though was the clash between the realistic story (as far I remember - I only played a couple of missions into it) and environments, and the absurdity of the gameplay. A...
