ok so i updated the game and got the MP and the SDK - well now when I try and play half-life 2 it gives me a "launcher error": Failed to load the launcher DLL: The specified procedure could not be found. Argh whats going on! Is there a fix for this?

look... dx9.0c is pretty much needed these days, but it'll depend on your gfx card's dx support as to how pretty it is. if you told us what gfx card you have then we may be able to help you, otherwise, see above answer :P
