Actually the toothpaste technique can and does work, as it's an abrasive and can smooth out scratches causing misreads. However this will only work well on light scratches, and not were the data has actually been damaged (IE the other side of the DVD is scratched).

PES has been on a downward spiral for years, cruise around the PES fan sites and you see a lot of unhappy fans. Sure you get the PES diehard it's the best game ever and real football is like this etc etc, but it's not really true. One of the most annoying things with PES is a lot that was broken...

Games have gotten easier, we've also gotten better. No FPS can match Doom 2 on Nightmare. It's not even remotely fair... :)

Looks nothing like EvE online to me...

I actually found it was a very run of the mill monster movie. Plots dumb, nothing unique apart from the camera style, and the shakey is overdone, with the clever angles very limited.

First one was great, second one was so bad...

I never stopped :)

As to why things are classic, it's usually a combination of class and timing. A really good book/game/film coming out at the right time becomes timeless.
