Try to use a proxy ( from aliveproxy.com for example ) to get around the port block. Out of curiousity, what ISP is blocking the HL / quake ports?

I guess the reason people are mad at this is, that the announced Black Box was ~30 bucks for the 3 new games, not including HL2 and EP1. Now you have to pay 45 bucks for the 3 new games but get the other 2 for "free", when you were supposed to buy these 2 games with the orange box, too a few...

usually beeps without posting either means your ram is gone or your cpu. both could be loose, too, so check if they're all properly mounted. without further info i would assume that your ram is faulty. try to remount it, or plug in one stick only.

Haven't see it and probably never will. The previews with the rather staged action scenes ruined it for me. Let alone here they promoted it as Die Hard 4.0 which is another stupid thing - movie versions...great idea.

i still have all 3 games, they even work on vista. have you tried using the compatibility mode - set it to win98 or something? i cannot say for sure but i think thief 1 had to run in windowed mode to work properly for me.
