I think it's just the gcf files for whatever games you decide to backup. You could always fit savegames on a dvd with the backup files, but isn't it more fun to start over again? :)

I think I know what you are talking about. If you see the vents, use the manipulator to take one off or smash it with a crow bar. Each vent leads to the same place. Don't know how you are stuck there...
