I made a reddit page for RO if you want to keep up to date on any news from tripwire and the community; http://www.reddit.com/r/redorchestra/
This game will save FPS gaming for me. I look forward to BF3 but the lack of mod tools really kills me inside. For me battlefield 1942 was galactic...
So true
I wonder how far along they are in... voice acting, animating, overall level design, overall scripting, npc AI, npc sounds, weapon sounds etc etc etc
I mean it looks great but that means shit when it's never ever going to amount to anything.
*edit*
nice flash avatar OP XD
'Maybe'
I doubt they will make the '2009' release though, unless they release it in parts. They have done a good job hyping it up though, but screenshots and trailers don't mean a thing when your making a 6 hour game.
I want to hear what happened with the OB boxart as well.
And the OB meteor commercial.
"well our artists were all home sick and our intern Dwight was itching for a new project..."
DH is definitely rough around the edges. Every new feature they put in adds new bugs that don't get fixed. Their maps are weak as well, except for those made by the one guy whose not actually on the team lol.
It's the best ww2 multiplayer fps out but I'm warning you it has a steep learning curve. Dont even try taking a tank in a combined arms map until you have mastered bolt rifle plus smg :P
edit
Also turn off HDR, it makes the game 'blur out' at long range and it's hard to pick people off at 200m+
Ok beat it. Brilliant mod. I liked the challenge of it just because Portal/valve games in general try way to hard to be idiot proof and are thus way to easy. Two things that I wish they did before release were 1. Find English voice actors. Hell find anyone who speaks english the monotone voices...
I think what I did was use the lower piston thingy as a platform and got over. Either way it's definitely doable.
I'm stuck on stage 15 right now, but liking how thing is actually challenging where as portal was a run through.
