Well, it can do up to 2048 x 1536 resolutionwise, so that seems fine. Is there anything else I'm not thinking about, refreshrate or something?

Very important! I think the only reasons I've played Final Fantasy VII so incredibly many hours is because of the music and story. I could literally just stop playing for a while and just listen to the music sometimes. Fear soundtrack was really cool btw.

I did it in Photoshop CS with a custom brush I've made. The brush looks like a square standing on one corner, only it's made up of lots of random dots (noise 'em), so as to look a bit like a real brush. As for how, I just started out with the black background and painted from dark to light...
