You never mentioned what Watt PSU you are using, this might explain some of the issues, the 6800 GT requires at least a 300W, however I recomment a 400W+ for this card.

Aye, I've got two computers one with a nvidia one with ATI, they're bother overclocked by the max recommended on standard cooling (10%) and yeah I used coolbits with nvidia, just didn't like the drivers to be honest. It seemed to more hinder the preformace with the nvidia, although the ATI one...

I used the ATI ones they where fine, the Nvidia ones on the other hand, nah not my cup of tea, just didn't give me the preformance I wanted out of my card

Nope, because you don't have to copies, its rather odd that you can't LAN, I can play in a LAN game with the same account, I use it to test skins, its helpful because I can see what they look like 3rd person. If it doesn't work I guess you'll have to do without, and don't get an illegal...

If your mate has broadband why don't you bring your computer round and LAN up, share internet connection and then download it yourself?

Your only ment to select a file from the bin folder so it can cert the directory, it won't let you launch HL2 however from 3danalyze (I have the same card) just boot up HL2 normally, I didn't really notice a preformance boost, but anyway.

We PC gamers are more mature in general than console fanboys who go ballistic over their game losing an awards show, :)
