If I was to want to dig out the sound files for, say, half-life 2 that I've installed through steam, where would I be able to find them, if I'm able to find them? Also, would there be some sort of program I would need?

I just got past the sniper part of "Follow Freeman!" and as Barney's opening the gate, he turns and asks you if you hear a cat, and then mentions that it haunts him.
What is that in reference too? Is it something further along in the game (don't tell me if so, this is my first play through)...

I did enter the sv_cheats 1, and then tried using the codes. Entering them with / before (like most of the websites say) gives me an invalid entry error, entering them without the /, while not giving me an error, doesn't seem to do anything at all.
