Love the mapping and feel you have, only a few gripes:
-Have a voice over added to the text, it's bad, especially when it comes up while fighting, and is just hard to read. Just use your own, but scuffle it in a sound editor, make it sound "changed", as it seems OUR benifactor isn't quite...

I was under the impression that Final Maps, as in the rules of the contest, couldn't be publicly distributed . I'm not even sure if betas could be, let alone the final maps.

i'd think using a combination of brushes, custom textures and particals is your best bet.
water_analog is used to raise/lower water levels im pretty sure.
i usally see this when the bottom of the water brush (with the nodraw texture) is hanging out the bottom of the displacment brush.
check again to see if the bottom brush covers the whole water brush.
also make sure its got the nodraw tex on all 5 sides besides the top
yup make sure the displacemnt brushs bottom is totally covering all water. water needs to be inside a map, or atleast inside the whole displacment brush
im not so sure... ive compiled a map with a displacement with a water brush and it compiled fine (no leak).
i think the bottom of the original brush that you make into a displacement has to be lower/outside the the water brush. IE put the water brush in the bursh that you then displace...
Just so you know i've found these in one area of the game, just ater you get the gun for the boat.
you will go thru a sewer/tunnel that has sides to it with combine shooting at you shortly after reciving the gun, look on the sides and theres a few of these to shoot and watch spin around.
well, if they want maps that look similar to the city for their competition, it be nice to have the dimensions of the roads. It's not much different then supplying textures for buildings.
