did you alt+tab ? source may show you these no-texture(pink/black) glow effect. So just try to restart your game and check if it's still there ;)

I've got to say... "Could someone do a simple (I think) modification of HL2: DM for me?" that title... well when I've read what you want I really dislike to see this... you got to know that "programming" is 1 of the hardest jobs in game design. not to judge on the other types of jobs in game...

damn that was the first thing I learned in hammer years ago for hl1 ofcourse after I created a brush :)

make sure you did not scaled your model, weightmap should also be correct... make sure every bone is used elsewise uncheck "Remove all unused bones"

run the map and check in console (activate this by the keyboard settings under the button "Advanced" check the Console checkbox then save your settings and press "~" next to the "1" button (not numpad)) and check which errors you'll receive. maybe it will be clear for you then, elsewise report...

hmm yeah bit weird... I think it might have something to do with "vis" as hammer calls it. I'll recommend you'll do as Dodo says, think that might be the problem

console(~), "thirdperson" enter. you got your thirdperson ;) maybe you need to reset the camera from 90 or -90 (don't really remember) and set it to: 0 now you should see your character from behind in thirdperson. I'm not sure how to make a sort of plugin for 1 of the source games so I...

You also made sure they are in the bin directory ? and ofcourse check the time of creation or edit of the file to make sure your last compiled dlls are right. Starting up with just the steam interface is good enough so thats not the problem

Did you had any compile errors in C++? if not try to check the bin archive in the mod section and take a look if you see the following dll's: client.dll server.dll if not you should move (copy paste) them from the mod source files following directories is where they can be found: %mod...

Will you create any blog/site which we can see some progress on the mod? will be cool since i'm curious how everything will become :O

I think hl3 (if it will come) will be an big debute again like hl1 with the distance sounds, hl2 with physics, and 3 hopefully some big improvements aswell we'll see ^^
