[Intense Off-Topic] Stop going to chain theaters then! Go to privately owned ones run by people who love movies. You will likely see actual humans instead of cheesy CG anims.
Just one dork's opinion, but putting these messages into the mouths of characters onscreen is like giving literary and dramatic credence to the ushers telling people to turn off their cellphones in theaters.
Agreed. Ep2 seemed a little ho-hum in puzzles and combat (what can I say, throwing logs at robots doesn't fly as gameplay innovation for me). Comparing the gameplay from HL2, even Ep1 was somewhat stale and repetitive. They're spinning their wheels with Half-Life, so I'd welcome something that'd...
Maybe I'm of a minority, but I'd rather think of Gman's tricks as only being local to the individuals he's dealing with at the time. Anything more and it's giving him a kind of silly 'Star Trek' godlike-being quality that takes away from the character's intrigue and cool.
True. That's really only stopgap until you can force proper working refresh rates for each of the resolutions you play/work at. After that, turn off the override. (Sixty will ruin your eyes.)
If it's a res problem, that'll do ya right. Alternately, if it's a strict refresh issue (ran into that recently is why I'm bringing it up), try running dxdiag and going to the More Help tab and forcing the refresh rate to 60hz with Override. After that, try running the game.
If there's a glados on Borealis, I hope that it might have started from the same seed code but self-evolved (the genetic algorithmic part; edit: if it has recursion back onto itself anyway) to be a different 'individual'. I'd hate for Ep3 just to be another evil-glados turning the game into...
Right right! That skipped my mind, sorry there. She says she's the one keeping them/it back (Combine? Portal storms? Something else?). Plus, the only thing remotely Combine-like is that high-energy wireless data transmission between Glados and her modules before you put some space between the...
Delurking because I love Portal that much.
I like the idea. Mainly because I'd love to have a Half Life or further Portal episodes where a 'disinfected' Glados is a voice-in-your-ear aide, but only as long as she's still snarky and passive-aggressive. Anyway, throughout the end of Portal, I...
