I'm still stuck at 'Connecting Steam Account: ...". Pity, I'll have to try again tomorrow.
Question, is this team deathmatch, or regular deathmatch?
EDIT: Huzzah and hurrah! Preloading the files now.
Well I've had my HDD for about a year so far, and format pretty damn often (not once a month normally, but if you count multiple formats in a day (I've had some bad computer issues) probably more than 12 so far). Getting everything up to speed definately doesn't take a day, only a few hours...
I heard the first release would be somewhat between HLS and CSS; better graphics, some redone maps, and use of the physics, but other than that nothing special.
Personally I'm expecting around March for the first release, and maybe 2 months after when it starts getting real good.
Are you talking about those weird somewhat dead-like creatures? Those were pretty cool, and I'd like to see some sort of backstory for them in a mod (or maybe just get to fight them).
Is there anyway to change gravity, but have it only affect ragdolls? I noticed that if you change gravity, and then change it back, sometimes it'd work, but it'd change gravity for everything (not just corpses) excluding Gordon. What I want is just ubercool ragdolls w/o changing the gameplay.
Didn't Valve say something about two groups in HL2, one that was wrong and one that was very wrong, and everyone thought they were referring to the scientists method of dealing with the combine and Barney's group's method of dealing with the combine? Well what happened to that? It was obvious...
I didn't find it that impressive. Although they do flank a lot, many times I've been able to just hide in a corner, wait for a guy to run after me, shoot him in the head, and repeat. They rarely tried to get me with nades when I had cornered myself, and whenever they did try to get me with...
Well the thing I don't like about the story is really just due to some of the long levels. I know how hl1 told its story, and it was great, but you got bits of it more often, whereas in hl2 some of the levels are just fighting/puzzles w/o learning anything interesting. Throughoust the entire...
To where I've played (I just got the bugbait) 8/10 unfortunately. The boat sequence was way too long, and a lot of it just seems to be running and shooting, running and shooting... Gameplay just seems very different from the original HL. Then when they stop that they throw annoying puzzles at...
Looks nifty. I hate the new save screen, just 'suz it takes up so much room, and I hate having to scroll down to save over old games. Anyway to deactivate that?
I actually have to agree with him. For the first bit, the game is just run shoot run shoot run shoot continuously.
I'm pretty sure it'll get better though, once I've got more weapons and know a little bit more about what's going on, but even if it doesn't, it's still my money's worth...
The problem with HL1 was that the AI was too exploitable if you knew where the enemies where hiding. Using satchels and laser trip mines, you can get past a lot of difficult enemies, and for some guys you can just hide around a corner. They run over, you shoot them, and then they run away...
