Annoying Alyx Glitch

So I was playing through HL2 again, but this time on hard. I reach a loading point somewhere in Nova Prospekt and another Alyx spawns in front of me. She doesn't say anything or even have a gun. At first I think nothing of it and just continue but I notice that she follows me to the control room. I was being shot at so i backed down the stairs and go to throw a grenade in when Alyx runs up the stairs and stands in the doorway. She was killed within a few seconds which made me lose because a mission critical person died. I reloaded and she was still there so I figured I could trap her behind the gate that closes when you get near the control room. She gets stuck on the other side so I figure my problems are solved, but I died in the control room. I reloaded again and when I went to trap Alyx this time she was crushed in the gate that closes. I ended up just giving up and switching to a level after Nova Prospekt.
 
What do you mean she just spawned.

It's not possible for her to just spawn...and without a gun.
Alyx is NEVER without her gun during NP.
 
Restart the level, sounds like a glitch.
 
Really people, the game's only $20. If you have a good enough computer to play it you should at least have enough money to BUY it... Less you stole your computer too, in which case you need to kill yourself cause you're wasting my oxygen.

Ohh, and btw, if you didn't buy the game from a store, or online store, and you bought it off the black market, or some guy that was standing on the side of the freeway with a sign that said "FREE COMPUTER GAMES!" you should still kill yourself. How in the hell on earth would you actually believe the copy would work? IT'S PIRATED! Meh, I'm done, I'll stop here.
 
Wow. First off everything is legit and this happened a few weeks ago I just never got around to posting it. My steam does not work at the moment. And yes, she just spawned there while the game was loading. People who don't pay for games are just too lazy to make money to pay for them.
 
Take a picture of your game case and CD and PWOOVE it! ><

No, really. I'm having trouble believing you. That or this is an extremely rare set of glitches, which I HIGHLY doubt is true. When you take the pic I better damn well see the flash shining off the case. -.-

Your Steam doesn't work, yet somehow you manage to play Half Life 2 to witness the Alyx glitch?

The glitch happened a few weeks ago but I've just now got around to posting it in a thread. I searched the forums for a glitch like this before I posted it and found one that was pretty much the same for what I understood but only one person responded so I figured I would post my own problem. As for a picture here.

You should never deactivate your steam acc now.
You posted a pic of your cd-key.

If you do then the cd-key could be used by anybody with a pirated version of the game.

And my steam account is still active so it doesn't matter. Even if it did I have another copy of the game. Long story.
 
You just rephrased what i said: "You shouldn't deactivate you steam acc and so on".

I don't think that the CD key thing is a problem. it's pretty distorted. :/

Besides, I told him Game Case, and CD. not Game Case, CD, and CD KEY. His fault not mine.
 
Did he remove the Img. with the cd-key?
It's not there anymore.

As long as noone figures out the cd-key on the first pic it's ok.
 
No, it's still there. i think it's best a mod removes the pic, just in case. :|
 
The kind of help you're likely to get here wasn't worth you taking the trouble over those pics, tbh. If I were you I'd take off the one with the CD Key.

As for the Alyx problem, try validating your Steam files (once Steam is working) by going to Right-Click > Properties > Local Files > 'Verify Integrity of Game Cache...'. Then start from the beginning of the chapter.

That cd-key is pretty distorted. No prob there.

Yeah, that was a lot to go through, but I had to know. :P

I'm not even sure if I'm worth talking to about this problem. He said he already validated it, and w/e. I think the problem lies with your computer or your installation. Maybe you ran into an error as it installed? Validate it first and if that doesn't work then you might need to reinstall it. (If you have a fast internet connection it would probably go faster if you did it through steam.)

Notice I said MIGHT. See some other suggestions first. :D

If you keep asking him if he has a pirated version, he'll leave at some point, because we aren't helping him.
Anyway, the only people who would pirate are mexicans. And they don't understand that it is bad anyway. So they'll come right out and say it.
 
Lol, I don't really care about the glitch it only happened to me once and I just made a thread about it because I thought that someone would find it funny. The registration code doesn't matter since my account is still activated and as for my Steam problem its fixed, or for now at least.
 
I've had this glitch happen to me. I never figured out a solution I just had fun messing around with two Alyxs... ehem. I took some screenshots though.

My copy of the game is also legit, and up until now I was the only person I had heard of this happening to.
 
I had this happen, as well. Legit game as well. Same exact spot. I ended up being able to leave her behind the gate going into that part, and so she wouldn't get killed accidentally, I put the tall filing cabinet in front of her (she just stayed in the same spot anyway). :p
 
Weird, very first I've ever heard of this glitch.
 
It's happened before. I remember from my hazy memory browsing these boards and someone doing more or less the exact same thing... and everyone jumping him/her screaming about piracy.

Hey, don't worry, it happened to me, too (yes, I have a legit copy, bought right off Steam). I impulse 203'ed her, because she kept walking through walls and getting killed by Combine, thus ending the game. Just point your crosshair at her, then type "impulse 203," and she will be removed.

It happened at that load point and the one after. Then never again for the rest of the game. It's... weird. I didn't want to post when it happened to me because I thought it was only my copy.
 
Lol, the 2nd Alyx looks retarded just walking around and doing nothing:laugh:
