I DLed hl2 off steam, same with epi 1, how do I get into the game data so I can get the sounds? I want, when I start my computer up, you hear a zombie say "YAAAAAAAAMON!" Which has been ditermined that they actually say "HELP ME!" but it just sounds like a Jamacin dude screaming at a visitor. :P

so... help?

Well, download GCFscape to open up the GCF for Half-Life2. The sound files are in there somewhere iirc....I haven't done it in so long...

K... Umm... I've read the readme, dled the Microsoft tingy, but it still not be workin for me... WHAT TO DOES!?

Pretty easy -

Just launch GCFScape, click open and it should start you at Program Files\Steam\SteamApps, and there you should see 'source sounds,' among other things. Open it, expand 'hl2' in the panel on the left, then expand 'sound.' The zombie sounds folder is in the 'npc' folder.

Good luck.

Cdrive/steam/steamapps/*Your username on steam*/Halflife2ep1 or whichever half life file/hl2 extract and replace or you could just leave it somewhere to take up space on your computer.

Extract with GCFScape incase u do not understand 13 year old kid.

Have you seen my vid? :D
