After I kill the antlion guard(ian)s outside the mines, I'm unable to proceed because the damn vort won't move! Maybe if I play through from the beginning, he'll open the generator; I played from a saved game that began just before the guards crashed out of the mines. Incidentally, I'm pretty sure this saved game has worked properly before.

This has happened to me once before, but if you load from an earlier save it should hopefully work
Ah, that's good. I'm just hoping I can get this save working? I stashed all of the flammable near the last thumper so I'd be able to fling it from (relative) safety during the guard battle, and saved just before triggering the guards.
