The textures keep on appearing as a big black blob, or they appear as something else.
For example, i have a door that has the texture of metal_wall021b_cheap and in the 3d view thing, it looks like its the gravelfloor002a texture.
I think vhe2 gets some read errors when your making a detailed map.
When i move closer to these objects, the right texture is displayed.

I think i found the problem, these displacement maps are buggy, they work fine most of the time. I dont think valve has gotten them perfectly right yet.
