Best Mod/ Playing Graphics Card

Hey-
I'm in the market for a new graphics card (willing to throw in 200ish) and I was wondering what you all thought was the best graphics card for that price to both play and edit. I was thinking an ATI Radeon 9800 but someone mentioned it wasn't good when working with graphics. I've never tried it so not sure exactly what they meant but I was wondering if that's the best value. I'm running an AMD Athlon 64 3300+ 2.4GHz OEM with a Mach Speed K8M8MS Socket 754 MicroATX motherboard. Thanks!

The 9800 is a good card. Just make sure you don't get the "SE" variety of that card, get the XT or Pro. SE is an underclocked budget card.

That is a Sempron CPU, not an Athlon. Doesn't really matter though. Your motherboard is AGP, means that you can't use PCI express videocards. Seeing your cpu, I recommend an nVidia geForce 6800GS for your system.

Get some decent cooling on that card asap because I destroyed mine by overheating it lol
