Hi everyone

I created this post with the intention of hearing what everyone else is doing in the time they would have set aside to play HL2, had it already been released. I'm rather tired of reading endless threads of people grasping at straws, raising false hopes or jumping to irrational conclusions because they heard something differently because of what they wanted to hear.

Personally, I'm in the process of upgrading my computer (damn the delays on the latest athlons) and have mixed feelings about the Half-Life delays because I would probably have failed my exams this month if it had already been released... As to what else I'm doing - I've recently shown renewed interest in Warcraft III; the latest patches have really changed the game for the better, and I'd recommend anyone who's written it off to try the latest versions with the new neutral heroes. (In truth, any game in which I can waste a friend of mine whose been watching replays for a week gets two thumbs up!)

Incidentally, two people I know have been busily downloaded HL2 for nearly a week now with their 56k connection, refusing to believe that it hasn't even gone gold yet, as I profusely informed them. If they aren't unknowingly downloading some extensive film of questionable content, I suppose it might be the orginal HL2 leak, because I don't suppose there were any after that?

Thanks for your time

Personally, I've been playing through HL and OpFor again. Just so it's all fresh in my mind when HL2 comes out.

As for your friends, are they preloading? Or are they actually trying to download a leaked version of the game?

I been paying that one game a lot, what is it called... oh yeah, real life.

That game sucks. You can't save and quit when it gets tough. :)

No kaellinn18, they're not preloading. They swear its the real thing - though they are rather guillable, as they'd probably download any large file with a filename of 'Half-Life 2' - so I suspect its either someone who dumped the preloads on the net, or the original leak, seeing that as far as I know, the current version couldn't have possible leaked, seeing as Valve's security is probably pretty uptight right now. (Hopefully.)

You can quit, though its damned hard to see your desktop icons reappear one after the other on your laggy desktop afterwards. :)

Not been doing much... Camped my teachers in school though, that was fun.
