Bioshock runs pretty choppy with my system (15-25 FPS) making it incredibly difficult to aim during firefights, so I was wondering if there was a way to have the game run in DX9. I'm hoping that this will result in higher FPS so I can really enjoy the game.

Okay, I figured it out on my own. If you're wondering how to do it, simply add this to the command line:

Code:
-dx9

In order to do that, right-click on Bioshock in your Steam game directory, then click on properties. Then click on the "Set Launch Properties..." button and add the line mentioned above into the dialog box and press Ok.

I only got a 10 fps increase in doing this, but I think it was worth it. Happy gaming.

Wow. I have a gig of ram 7800 gtx and the fx55 and im running on the highest settings @ 1280x1024, iv lagged once. Really didnt expect the game to run this good on this machine.
