Boarding a Combine DropShip

Level: Sandtraps

Location: End of the line for dune buggy

Incident: Multiple drop-ship assault

I've found the best way to beat this level is to be completely aggressive.

1) When a drop-ship is landing, run up on the unarmed side of the drop-ship.

2) Wait for it ot land, move in to the area just on the right of the door.

3) When the door opens, soldiers will jump out, facing away from you. Cap them from behind.

But last night I was trying to get inside the drop-ships... I couldn't manage to do it. Has anyone else tried this?

I think the entrance might be clipped or something so that it only allows one-way traffic.

I did exactly the same thing the second time I played it through, after watching some speedrun where the guy did it. But no, I haven't managed to get into it.

Yeah if you watch the no damage game some guy did, he did killed the combine from that angle exactly but used the grav gun and a barrel / roller mine (cant remember)

I believe it is clipped as you exactly said. You tried getting on top of it yet? Bit of dropship surfing?

Why on earth would Valve build the collision mesh so that you can get inside?

That would be about as clever as modelling the interior of the combine APC

I checked the collision model, there is ABSOLUTELY NO WAY for you to board the dropship
