Nice Work
I love that, looks excellent........brilliant lighting and colour as well.

That is completely awesome, what did you use to make it?

The lighting and composition are great. :)

The evening atmosphere with your colours and soft lighting is superb. It looks very much like a scene from where I live in the southwest of England.

stunning work dood, great subject.

edit - just wanted to say that if that was a painting and not digital it would be snapped up in a gallery for hundreds, if you like painting that kind of scene you should consider making a career of it.

I am from New England, on Cape Cod. That's where the piece is set.

Just wanted to say thanks to everyone so far, the praise is much appreciated!

That is excellent. */saves it* How long did it take?

i did 85 percent of it a few months ago, and just finished it last week. In total it was probably 3 or 4 days off and on working.

If you look at the referance picture, it looks kinda bland and drousy. Your painting, however, is completely the opposite- saturated with optomistic light, the picture itself bathing in a tranquil feeling. The sunset colours gives the impression of a relaxing, serene rest after a long days work. To me, the tattered boat among the glorious, gigantic mountains represents one small person trying to make a living among such a huge, open ended world. I love it.

mountains?

They may be only trees, but they look like mountains ;(

...And I want them to be mountains...

*cries*

You want mountains, huh? you're only 3 or 4 hours drive from Wales or Cumbria, go stand on top of Snowdon or Scafell Pike and you won't be sorry :)

Well I had a sort of inbetween version... less detailed. You probably saw that!

Thanks for the compliments everyone :-D

It's beautiful! Vivid, detailed, and just generally amazing.

What did you use to make it ?
Ill begin with oil or aqryll stuff but no idea which :&

This is digital media, done on my wacom tablet in photoshop!

I'll try to get some of my oils up online though.
