Hi,
I already have a decent gaming rig, but my parents want another one for my siblings. The challange is the build the best gaming comp for 600USD (about 700CAD) that I can. I would like a little help because I don't have a ton of time for research and this needs to be done before Christmas. Here are the details:
Can be AMD or Pentium Based (Celeron is acceptable)
Not 64 bit.
Mother board preferably has built in sound and LAN.
NO INTEGRATED GRAPHICS!!!
Direct X 9 video card, ATI or NVIDIA (or trustworthy licensced derivatives)
Should have TV out
40 - 80GB 7200rpm 8mb cache hard drive, reputable brand.
USB 2.0
Preferably firewire (only one port necessary)
512MB of memory
It would be absolutely AMAZING if this could fit in a shuttle sized box, I looked at most of the shuttle barebones but couldn't find one that was cheap enough (and with decent GPU or AGP8X). I didn't check other SHUTTLE type brands, because I don't know any. It doesn't have to be great, just decent.
Keyboard, mouse and monitor are not included in the price, 15% tax is not either but would be a (understandably near impossible) plus.
Think something that can play HL2 at a reasonable quality level (obviously not top), for 600USD.
If anyone can pull this off, you win my heartfelt gratitude.
I don't expect you to go spend hours researching, just post some cheap and reliable components that you know of that fit the requirements.
