cant install HL2

im currently running Radeon 9700 Pro, Intel Pent4 2.4ghz, 1024 ram, 200gb HD (150 still available), for some reason i cannot install HL2, keeps coming up with message Not A Valid Win32 Application and doesnt identify disk correctly in DVD drive, ive tried on a lesser PC and installs fine, i have uninstalled existing Half-life and counterstrike and condition zero aswell as steam. :angry:

So it's your hardware/driver conflict problem. I can't help ya, but format C: is allways an option.

Make sure you have all your Windows updates in. It sounds like either your installer is corrupt or out-of-date. I have heard of this problem before. The installer is not manufactured by Microsoft, but a third party. Look for info on the internet regarding the Windows installer.
