these would be pretty cheep models, u can see em in the dark

I haven't checked, but they reflect the environment, so if the environment's dark, the reflection would also be dark, right?
You can't see a mirror in the dark, can you?

you willl still notice it the sheen, unless cubemaps r really accurate, which usualy aint the case.
