Cutscenes?

Just a question.

Is it possible to create cutscenes, that has a camera that can be directed?
 
And the camara movement won't be that smooth. You can have it travelling in straight lines, but circling a fixed object (let alone a moving one) would not be very easy to simulate smoothly.

This is why most of the information you might expect to be transmitted via 'cut scenes' are usually in-game, with Gordon's eyes as the free-moving steadicam. Cut scenes are useful because you have control over the player's view, and so they might be preferred for dramatic purposes. For example, to hide something off screen until you want the player to know about it.
