2:02 Final announcement! For PS3! E3 is so damn exciting sometimes. What is it?!

FINAL FANTASY XIII. FINAL FANTASY XIII. They pulled a serious bait-and-switch on us. Sword-and-gun-wielding heroine who looks like Yuna, flipping her way around a high-tech, futuristic world. No idea what it was until the end when that NAME popped up. Yoshinori Kitase directing! This is the guy behind all the best ones--VI, VIII, VIII, X. Be still my heart.

Hehe... i giggled at the name... 13 of these games now. THIRTEEN!!!

Bet it'll look purdy though :)
 
Jesus Christ ... is XII even out yet? Also, I don't see how just announcing it is particularly exciting, it was a given they'd keep making these damn games. It'll be interesting to see how long it takes before they finally run the thing far enough into the ground that people quit buying it.

The series won't die. The Japanese love it too much. Seems to sell well over here in the west also. It won't be dying anytime soon I doubt.
 
I don't think people get tired of it is because out of all the final fantasies, none have any connection with each other, with the exception of a few. It's like a whole different game each time, with the same title slapped on.
 
ailevation they have no connection but theyre all the same anyway

ff9 was the only good one as far as im concerned

I liked FF8 quite a bit actually. Pretty much the only FF game I almost finished without cheating... Almost.
 
Looks like the battle is real time rather than turn based :O
 
ff9 is my fav. too, though i <3 6/7/8 .. i didn't like 10 much, hopefully 12 will be good.
 
Never played any Final Fantasy games but iv ALWAYS wanted to. This new one looks sexy :)
 
man the graphix just looks unbelievable,

microsoft should stop selling the 360

ps3 to win this generation
 
... What is so special about the graphics? The close up of the model is good, but the battle shots don't look that impressive at all.

And Final Fantasy is getting ridiculous. I could stomach unconnected games, but this sequel / spin-off / stretch the game over every concievable medium BS needs to go. Sure Square were always about making money, but they were never solely about it like they appear to be now.

I've almost beaten X, after about a year... :o

And yeah, this is cool news, but completely unsurprising.
 
FFS, it's really pathetic when a series gets to it's 13th installment. It's obvious they just milking the title, and yet people still buy it.

What is really sad is that it's not the 13th title by any stretch of the imagination. It's more like 30th.
 
I'm not excited for this, I've grown generally tired of JRPGs as of lately, now I'm all playing just plaine CRPGs such as Fallout etc :p
 
I couldn't be any more unimpressed. The animation reminded me of the PS1, the frame-rate, the colors, the character design - everything about watching this game trailer created a desire to press the 'next' button. I was watching the press conference and was put-off by this game.

I really liked FF III even though it was repetitious, and have tried a few of the games since, and FF X was pretty good, but they just seemed to be all about the money since they went to MMORPG and no longer about making the best game they can. This series is dead to me.

FF XI was ****ing ridiculous and while playing this game I became embarrassed in the privacy of my own home! It was that ****ing ridiculous to defeat enemies by really bad dancing. WTF is that? Maybe I could have found an upgraded microphone or disco ball. If you change your clothes mid-fight, you have a different song to kill them with. I always hated chocobos and that corny-ass music tbh.

Fortunately I bought the game used and was able to return the game for full credit since I returned it so quickly.

That's FFX-2. FFXI was MMORPG. Though frankly, the numbering "system" sucks one, so I can't blame you for making a small mistake...
