Do you think Valve will release the 2 playable levels?

They're probably not going to be playable to the public, and they certainly won't release them.

playable by the valve guy that demonstrates the game at the e3 :o

You'd think with all the bullshit from the Last year, Valve would at least throw us a bone!

dont hold your breath...you know valve... :|

which "two" playable levels?...last i heard the whole game is playable from start to finish, thats probably more than two levels.......

There will not be a public playable demo before the game's release. I'll bet my salary on it. There are good reasons why not also and they've all been discussed.

Fair enough, but do you know if there will be any benchmarking tools for those of us who may have to upgrade?

Valve already stated that there will not be a public demo, at least not for release and said it MIGHT come some months after the release (For those poor bastards who don't have the game yet). Most likely there will never be a HL2 official demo, even though you can see the betaleak as one if you're an asshole. Just as "Half-Life: Day One" is said to be a demo for HL1, which it wasnt. At least not officially.

Nothing's certain yet, but a benchmarking program would be good to have. Valve may be saying something about it after/during E3.

Why are people who played the beta assholes?

Anymore broad sweeping statements you would like to make today?

maybe....
people who dont buy Hl2 right away are gay?
people who dont pay for steam are idiots?

Uplink was the demo, Day One was a leaked of a demo that was supposed to come with bundled with ATI cards. HL: Day One actually really made the game a sucess, IMHO. It spread great word of mouth so fast that people were positively hungry for the game when it came out.

Here, here. Everyone else needs people who've played the "beta" to reassure them that this game, will in fact, be cool. Lot of chicken littles running around right now... :dozey:

He DIDN'T mean that people who play the beta are assholes.
He DID mean that if you think of the leaked game as a "demo", you are an asshole.

Actually people who DO pay for steam I believe are idiots. But that's more or less my own opinion.

You don't play a beta like that, it's just not right against VALVe. None of them (Definently not Gabe) said it was "Alright for you to play it". It most certainly placed emotional stress on the team with the leak, and the fact that people took advantage of it. This, sir, makes you an asshole if you've played the beta. It's not like I couldn't have gotten my hands on it, it's just not right.
Edit: If this was too long to read or hard to understand Read above post
