So, my home town of Ottery St Mary was hit on Wednesday morning at around 1am by what the Met Office is calling a 'freak' storm concentrated over the town, something that happens once every 100 years or so.
I went home for the weekend to find my town looked like something out of New Orleans.
The whole of Devon had rain and 'storm' conditions, but Ottery St Mary was hit the worst by far.
Estimated 100mm of rain fell in an hour alone, with a foot of hail ontop of that.
Pictures speak louder than words, so heres the video and picture links. Now to many, this may seem fairly normal for severe weather, but considering Devon is the warmest part of the UK (apparently), and never really gets hit by storms, this really was completely unpredicted, in the whole 'no warning' sense of things.
