After playing HL2, I'm a bit worried about the addons that are (supposedly) going to be created by Valve, its not that HL2 isn't a great game and that the addons will carry on that tradition, but its the length I'm worried about. HL2 was only fourteen chapters long, and some of them didn't have much play time. And aren't addons usually smaller than the original game, so what like five chapters lol!.

But, the length of HL2 sheds some light on to what may be in the expansion packs. First of all, if you've read the "Raising the Bar" book, there are TONS of creatures/locations that didn't make it in the final game that we may get to see in the expansion packs. I think Valve deliberately took some of these creations out of HL2 so there would be more content in the expansion packs, which is a good thing. Some of the locations that are on my most wanted list are the "Air Exchange" and Icebreaker levels that were cut from the original. I'm almost positive we'll see the latter in an expansion because of how much work Valve put into it (going to the location and copying down every concrete detail).

Guess we'll all just have to wait 'till e3, and there BETTER be something at e3!!

I am hoping that everything you said will happen. I want to see how cool the game will be if they didn't removed those creatures and places.

yeah, like that ice breaker they modellec leading onto the dock, and hopefully the older trap town to see what it was like, post combine leav ing traptown

A more fleshed out traptown definitely. I'm sorry, but Valve shouldn't have melded the two, it made for an almost contrasting atmosphere. I think facing the Combine in traptown could have had almost unending replayability. Oh, and also "Kraken" base (the underwater sea lab) as a substitute for Black Mesa. Dang, for everything cut out of the original game, it could provide an addon larger than the original itself!.

To be honest, I think this is where Valve can really "go wild" so to speak. HL2's development was plagued, now they can sit back and take their time (but not too much time!) creating some of the levels they really wanted. I mean, the Source engine is done, the break-ins are behind them, so all I can say is....get crackin' Valve!.
