I know Freedom Force and its expansion Freedom Force Vs. the Third Reich (ed. sequel actually!) got generally favorable reviews when they were new, so my main question is about how they've aged. Would they still be fun to play today?

**** yes.
Third Reich's actually a sequel though.

There's countless mods for it and just the sheer amount of things you can customize in the base game itself is mind boggling.

Yes. I only played the first one and I'd pay $50 if I had the chance. It's a classic. They're relatively slow paced tactical action games though - don't be expecting some Marvel: Ultimate Alliance crap and you'll love it.

I loved Freedom Force. I still have the box on the shelf.

****ing Christ, absolutely. I have retail copies of both but I may do this just to have them on Steam.

Novalogic just put their entire catalog on Steam as well. All the Delta Force games. I haven't checked yet whether there is still active DF2 multiplayer.

By the way, keep in mind that this was masterminded by Ken Levine of Bioshock fame. That should tell you something.

Hrm I haven't played Third Reich. Maybe I'll pick this up.
