If they are allowing you to pre-order, then surely if they cant supply it to you after taking your cash, then they'd run into consumer protection law?

well i just went to my EB games here in town today and the dude that actually owns the whole store was the only one there cuz they just opened and they had hl2 boxes on display and he told me i should go ahead and reserve it cuz its coming out next month, but i dunno he may have just said that cuz i was there....

Stop trolling with this nonsense. Retailers do not know when HL2 is being released. They know as much as us. They're taking pre-orders because they want money now, rather than later:
