great mod idea

i just thought of a great mod idea, it's very simple, and i of course oculdn't implement it, but i just think it would be good.

have any of you ever played that old old old game, speedball? i think a source version would be amazing! i know they made a new one, but it was crap. if anyone was a fan of the classic they would see how amazing this could be. what do you lot think?

p.s. as a very quick reference, speedball was a kind of basketball/rugby game with an extremely heavy round ball that you would carry, not bounce. you could hurt the others with this, but in the origional there were also weapons.

the goals were like basketball hoops, except that they are set into a high banked wall. there were also a few other lower scoring holes around and about, and other things which did stuff to the ball like power it up and make it more damaging to other players.

there were different classes of players too, heavy ones for rushing the other side, expecially at the beginning where the ball starts in the middle, there was an extremely heavy goalie too. now that i think about it i think there was also a soccer-like goal that the goalie defended. the strikers where the fastest but the least armoured, and a bad tackle by a heavy defender could kill them.

those of you that don't know it should look it up. but also, i really think it would make a great mod for source - a violent futuristic sport!

clearly none of you are old enough to remember speedball, but it was genius, and this mod is begging to be made. it's like 'uhhh!! please!! make me!'

yep - looks good...only problem is nothing has happened for a while...i wouldnt mind putting an irish team together for it.

I think the last half of this thread was talking about sourceball, but I'm still not sure what it or Speedball are...

well why don't you bloody well read it then? sourceball is a source mod of speedball. speedball is an old game which is a bit like a futuristic version of rugby, only with elements of basketball and battering each other to death with the ball.
