Half Life 2 Portal speedrun?

So, we all know you can load HL2 maps into portal, how about a HL2 speedrun using the portalgun? Would take much shorter time.:naughty:

He pirated his game, those don't work with a pirate.
I should know, I tried to use a pirated version I found at the net-cafe because my computer back then wouldn't work HL2.

Doesn't work.
Tried it.
Combine shoot you, but you can't hear the gun and it deals no damage.
You have to import the levels into PORTAL, which means your character is Chell, not Gordon. It doesn't work.

I do wonder how hard it would be for a clever modder to reproduce the functionality of the portal gun in HL2. I did the import-HL2-maps-into-Portal trick and the game crashed before I made it to Kleiner's lab. And sounds didn't work correctly, etc. It'd be nice to have it in HL2 natively.

Modders don't really have the source code for the engine...

Ever heard of Exite mod? Bit dead now, but that's pretty much the closest you'd get to running it natively.

You can only load HL2 in Portal. Portal has HL2 NPCs and weapons. It doesn't have HL1 NPCs and weapons.
